You know, the “think of what you could give the world!” argument in regards to skipping medication for mental disorders never fails to piss me off, but what pisses me off more is when they cite people like Van Gogh, Hemingway, Plath, et al as proof that taking…

This is like…. a hard area for me to judge right here. I’m on A LOT of medication for my bipolar issues and stuff… I’ve had problems before where medication HAS caused adverse effects with my thought process (mostly it’d turn me into a zombie and I’d not FEEL anything and in that couldn’t create since I use feeling to create)

but recently I had been in a 3 year art slump and couldn’t do anything, drawing, writing, poetry, even crafts..

then I started school and it ALL came rushing back with a vengeance…

So while the stuff can effect your ability to create, not being on it can too…

I hate when people tell me it’s all “mind over matter” or “just don’t think sad stuff! Be positive”

It’s seriously stupid comment to tell someone with clinical depressive issues.. there is no magical switch we can turn on or off for ourselves, those sad gory thoughts that constantly plague our ever waking minute, isn’t us going “oh I think I’ll think about hanging myself all day”..

these images pop into the truly effected persons head like a spam pop-up on a computer.

I can understand a stance of a person not wanting to take drugs that alter a brain chemistry, and more power to those who can handle it, but some people need that stuff man… “creativity” be damned…

If this crap saves me from MORE extensive scarring and or killing myself, I’ll sacrifice a little bit of creativity juju.

Wow. Is this one “nerd” basically shaming another stereotype of “nerd”? Hello, just because we like mini figures of beautiful women doesn’t mean we friggin’ “wank” over them.

You appreciate the beauty of a well sculpted gundam model, while people like myself and C.Viper over there appreciate the beauty of our favorite comic book girls brought into sculpt form.

Seriously though, blanket shaming bullshit statements about collectors aside, it is also okay if you do wank over your collectible statues, or ball jointed dolls, or hentai, or drawings that are not even intended to be viewed sexually.  It’s not creepy or reprehensible just because it isn’t everyone’s thing, and I’m just as put off by the shaming of people who sexualize characters or collectibles as I am by the assumption that anyone who collects statues of female characters must be doing that.

1. not everyone who collects ladyfigures sexualizes them
2. there’s nothing WRONG with sexualizing items/characters

LEFT field: I love figurines… I collect them when I have money/space.

I don’t have a penis though… so.. I don’t wank ON them, but I DO search/enjoy/masturbate to figurine ejaculated on videos.

I also don’t think if I DID have a penis, I’d wank on them, mostly because I’m lazy and they’ve a lot of nooks. Someone else can clean their collection lol
